India relations: the world by cooperation and conflict
Color: share of classified India-partner events in the trailing 365
days that are conflictual (CAMEO QuadClass 3 or 4 as a share of classified events).
Depth of color runs from the corridor's calm color at 0 to the severe color at the scale
cap shown in the legend. Grey: fewer than 50 recent events. Circles are states too small
for the map's polygons. Hover for numbers.
Not computed yet: aggregates publish once the 2017 events backfill completes.
Boundary depiction: both maps use Natural Earth's India point-of-view geometry, showing national boundaries as depicted by the Government of India. State-level event data covers the administered states; the national border is drawn in full.

Inside India: events by state
Color: press-recorded events located in each state over the trailing
365 days, log scale from the calm color to the severe color. The table splits conflict
(QuadClass 3 or 4) and protest (CAMEO root 14) shares. GDELT still emits some pre-2000
state codes; those are folded into today's boundaries and the fold is documented in the
codebook. Telangana, Ladakh, and Goa show grey because the source's geocoding predates
their current boundaries; their events are counted under the parent states, and an
event-level re-split is queued. Hover for numbers.
